He is wise, patient, strong, talented fighter and very loyal to Riki, The Great Leader. He has cubs with a saluki named Cross who is part of Ben's platoon. Before joining the wild dogs Ben lived with his master in Kōfu(they used to hunt together). Ben's former goodwill was an advantage on their journey trying to find dogs willing to fight against monster bear Akakabuto: - the Kai brothers join Ben's group because he had saved their lives when they were pups. - Akame and his serviles join Ben's group because Ben had helped him out earlier.
