Benizakura's hardest opponent was Tsuna Arashi who was the yokozuna before him. Benizakura trained diligently after losing to Tsuna Arashi - his goal was to fight Tsuna Arashi again. Later he found out that Tsuna Arashi had quit competing and had lost his eyesight and was used as a punching bag for younger dogs. Benizakura got furious, killed the young dogs and ran away from his owner. Later on Gin and Wilson find him from Shikoku where he lives with a boy named Nobuo who calls him "Don" and puts him up in fights again bulls. Gin fights him and after he's convinced about Gin's abilities he joins the Ōu army. He dies while trying to drown the bear named Mosa.
